# What is a doc set?

## A doc set is a collection of documents with similar purpose.

A **doc set** is a collection of similar documents that usually have similar purpose. Documents in the same doc set may be quite similar, for example derived from the same template over time, or may be very different in content and layout, yet have the same purpose, for example Lease Agreements from different parties.

Some examples of doc sets are Service Agreements, Medical Notes, Meeting Minutes, or Patent Office Actions.
